Better Professional Relationships: One Pillar Of A Happy, Successful Life

One of the four pillars to a happy, successful life is RELATIONSHIPS. Relationships as a romantic partner, parent, friend and business person. We need relationships that are supportive, encouraging, loving, and bidirectional (positivity goes both ways).

Success follows happiness. What? How?

Think about it. With whom do you enjoy hanging out? Optimistic or pessimistic people? Happy or depressed people? Relaxed or uptight people? Conclusive research show that the happier we are, the more people like to be around us. The more relationships we have, the more information we are exposed to. The more info we have, the more possibilities we have to earn a win.

Learn a bunch of tools from the expert, Frank Agin, about how to build relationships – the power of small talk, doing for others, extending trust, establish common interests, and reconnecting with old colleagues.

As an example of the power of relationship and networking, I interviewed Frank many weeks ago. Frank suggested I interview Dr. Wayne Baker at University of Michigan on his book All You Have To Do Is Ask. Both interviews were outstanding. In early May, I had the idea of creating an online, virtual, global, free summit (SurvivingToThriving.site) with 28 top thought leaders on a variety of topics to serve people during the pandemic. I discovered an expert on purpose and meaning – Dr. Vic Strecher – who has a powerful story. I reached out to him blindly at the University of Michigan. Unbeknownst to me, Vic reached out to Wayne (both at U. of Mich.) and got good feedback. So Vic agreed to the interview with me. And Vic does not need to be doing more interviews. He refuses requests daily. The interview with Vic was magic. All that gold due to networking and relationships.

You are NEVER done in this area of life. Do not get complacent here. This is a powerful and extremely actionable conversation.
