Many people I meet are pessimistic and defend their pessimism as “being realistic.” And they are correct — Pessimists do see objective reality slightly more accurately than optimists. However, their accuracy comes at a cost – greater misery. The choice is a bit of accuracy versus greater happiness. It’s no choice to me – I choose to be happier.
